Distributing a job posting effectively: the right channels by country
Posting everywhere at once is neither possible nor useful — every channel has a different audience and cost. Here's how to prioritize, country by country, on a realistic time budget.
The free baseline: Indeed + manual sharing
In almost every country covered, Indeed remains the best effort-to-reach channel: an automated XML feed (already generated by CVDesignPro for every public opening) is enough to appear there with no re-entry. LinkedIn comes next: manually sharing the posting is free and reaches a qualified professional network, especially for senior or tech roles.
Prioritizing by country
- France — France Travail (public employment service, developer API), APEC for professional/managerial roles, Welcome to the Jungle for employer-brand-driven targets (startups, tech), HelloWork as a generalist.
- Belgium — the three regional public services (Actiris in Brussels, Le Forem in Wallonia, VDAB in Flanders) are free and essential depending on the targeted region; StepStone as a paid complement.
- United Kingdom — Reed, Totaljobs and CV-Library split the generalist market; all are paid but allow single-job posting.
- Germany / Austria / Switzerland — StepStone.de is the generalist reference, Xing for the DACH professional network.
- Spain / Italy / Portugal / Netherlands — InfoJobs (ES), Monster (IT), Net-Empregos (PT), Nationale Vacaturebank (NL) are the local leaders — the market there is more fragmented than in France or the UK, so picking the right local channel matters more than international platforms.
- US / Canada — ZipRecruiter (one-click multi-board distribution) and Indeed for the US, Job Bank (public service) for Canada.
- Brazil / Mexico — Catho in Brazil, OCC Mundial in Mexico: the two dominant local leaders.
- UAE / Gulf / Turkey — Bayt.com and NaukriGulf for the Gulf, Kariyer.net in Turkey.
- China / Russia — Zhaopin or 51job in China (Mandarin interface, local employer account required), hh.ru in Russia.
- Australia — SEEK, dominant across the Australia/New Zealand market.
Find every channel, its sign-up link and status (automated / manual posting / partnership required) under the Diffusion tab of your recruiter workspace, filterable by country.
Create an account once, reuse it every time
Most job boards require an employer account created once and reused for every posting. Once your account exists on a channel, use "Link my feed / account" in the Diffusion tab to keep track of it across postings.
Measure before you multiply
Adding one more channel only makes sense if it brings quality applications — not just volume. For each opening, track which source actually produces candidates who reach the interview stage: it's usually 2-3 channels doing most of the work, with the rest mainly supporting long-term employer-brand visibility.
